Leaf in a Book

The note says:

"I found this leaf lying alone, face down, in the center of the top step before the door of a small Gothic cathedral at Kylemore Abbey, County Gallway, built at the foot of a barren mountain, and along the bank of an Irish lake"

It looks like there is a comma at the end there, and the top of some writing along the tear. I wonder what it said.

I found this scrap of paper and leaf tucked into the pages of a copy of Cormac McCarthy's "Blood Meridian" I bought in a second hand bookstore today. It's a long way from home, considering I bought the book in San Antonio, Texas.

Information and a picture of the Gothic Cathedral the note mentions can be found here.

Blood Meridian may be the best book I ever read, I heartily recommend it.
