Penumbral Lunar Eclipse over Golden Gate

Explore: #32

Weather in San Francisco was surprisingly cooperative on this very special day of a total lunar eclipse. Myself, and three other photographer friends, Raja, Anand, and Sachin started around 3.00AM in the morning from South bay to San Francisco where the moon was expected to set behind the south tower.

We reached Crissy fields around 4.00AM when the moon was still fully visible. We were one of the first set of people to arrive at the spot and had enough time to scout for a spot and set up our equipments. The engulfing of moon started happening around 4.45AM, and as the event started to unfold, it was pleasing to see the weather becoming progressively bettter.
