Brahminy Starling

Was away on a ten day trip to central India. That is the reason I could not comment on any photos uploaded. Hope to make up for it soon. Got fourteen new species on the trip including the one above.

The Brahminy Starling is a member of the starling family of birds. Usually seen in pairs or small flocks in open habitats on the plains of the Indian Subcontinent. Also called the Brahminy Myna. This passerine is typically found in dry forest, scrub jungle and cultivation, and is found close to human habitation. They are omnivorous, eating fruits and insects. This bird was perched on a Indian Coral Tree (erythrina variegata) growing by the roadside.
