Boatman, Fanatic

Had a tough time coming up with a name for this boatman. My friend and I kept circling the general idea with all sorts of words but none of them had the clarity without loaded meaning that I wanted. Finally, she wisely suggested, check the thesaurus! Good idea, it found me "fanatic". It seems it is the fanatics that feel violence the best course of action. It seems more often than not it is the fanatics who stockpile the weapons, who push to spend more on building ways to be able to kill people 1000 times over, instead of just 100. This is the fellow here who shouts, "Bomb them back to the stone age". This is the fellow who believes diplomacy cannot work in certain situations, and it is better to kill than to be killed. This is the man who might respect Ghandi, but still would have blown him off the map had he been in charge. I think you get the idea. They are human, with their own complexities, but it seems they take those complexities and behave in a way that turns them into caricatures. His anger and fantacism keep him isolated from others who do not agree with him. In many ways, it would probably isolate him from those that do as well, as he need always be ready for any deviation from his ideal. In being so prepared, he can never fully let his guard down.
