Killeen : Precipitation

For my weather page.

This chart shows annual precipitation (in inches) for the past several years, at our house in Killeen, Texas. The least was in 2011, when we only saw 10.5", while 2015 is the one to beat, with 46.8".

The purple horizontal line represents the "official" average for this area, which is very close to 33 inches. Until 2015, I'd never seen us reach that average. My own average, which is derived from only eight years, is 30.29 inches.

Based only on eight years, it looks like 2011 and 2015 were outliers -- strangely dry and strangely wet years -- while the other six are within a "normal" range.

Click here to see our monthly rainfall totals. The only pattern by month is that May is the wettest month -- on average.

Wettest months:

1. May

2. March

3. September

Driest months:

1. December

2. February

3. July
