Sigma 50mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM vs Zhongyi Mitakon Speedmaster 50mm f/0.95 III
I tried to create a little bit of backlighting to see the effect on contrast and colors. I moved the Sigma a little bit closer to match the framing. (The Sigma field of view is closer to 45mm.) The Mitakon colors/contrast definitely take a dip with this view vs. the other way. From this and other observations, it also seems like the Mitakon is more like f/1.2 where the lens is marked as f/1.4. By around f/2, the lenses become comparable in depth of field. You can also see a green cast in the Mitakon which I've built a Lightroom calibration profile to correct.
This one was uploaded as full size if you want to compare the sharpness, although I wasn't meticulous with the focal point.
