Time Magazine. Five Reasons to Visit The Isle of Wight

Found out today that one of my photos has been published in Time Magazine, here's an excerpt from the travel article by Jini Reddy.

Five Reasons to Visit The Isle of Wight

Separated from the English mainland by a roughly 30-minute ferry ride across the Solent strait, the Isle of Wight is a microcosm of all that's desirable in a U.K. holiday retreat. The sailing is world famous, the scenery magnificent and the villages unspoiled. There are wonderful hiking trails, pretty beaches and historic homes (both Queen Victoria and the poet Alfred Lord Tennyson lived there) alongside a thriving festival scene. It's easy to see why this is one of Britain's best-loved destinations.

Here are the five reasons given to embrace island life.

1 Cowes Week

2 Steephill Cove

3 Osborne House

4 The Needles

5 The Tennyson Trail

You can see what she has to say about each one and read more here:,31542,2019553,00.html#...

Thanks to ventnorblog for finding the story, and Getty for making the sale on my behalf.

Thinking about the article itself, I have to agree with the ventnorblog (local online news outlet) assessment that we’ve got a lot more to offer than the cliches that always get picked up on in travel writing, but i think it’s still a very positive story for the island, and the tourist industry should be pretty pleased to see the Island described as “a microcosm of all that’s desirable in a UK holiday retreat.”
