Been a busy but fun weekend, quality time with the family on saturday, went to the 'Isle of Wight Photographer of the Year awards' yesterday evening, then off to a party last night, indoor cricket in the morning and a big posh lunch at the Royal Hotel in Ventnor this afternoon (amazing roast dinner :) Not much time for photography or flickr in all that but i'll catch up when i can.

So the awards evening was pretty cool, i came third in the main category (It's a small world), and seeing the quality of the other work last night i think i should be pretty pleased with that really (although of course i do think i should have won :)

Here's a link to the site so you can take a look at the other winners and shortlisted entries if you want.

My good friend paul wight life photography came third in the other category ('It's a very small world, go wild on wight") and i saw a few other flickr faces there so it was almost like a bit of flickr meet in the end too.

Indoor league cricket was good today, i got 22 not out as my team (west island) beat an isle of wight youth team, a triumph of experience over ability as most of the youngsters are clearly going to be far better cricketers than us when they grow up, so its a good job we're getting our winning in now while we still can :)
