endpages on finished book

    Newer Older

I glued the end pages first to the finished text block, then to the inside of the finished case.

Wonderful! Do you glue the spine of the pages in also?

Wow, this is so awesome. I also wonder if you glue in the text block to the spine. also, not sure what a headband is? Thanks so much for sharing. wouldn't these make cute pendants or earrings? Maybe too heavy for earrings...?

you DO NOT glue the spine to the back of the book - this allows the covers to open freely.

Greeneggs, the headband is the litte bit of sewing at the very top of the book closest to the spine in red and yellow. In larger books the endbands ( also called headbands) protect the tops of the pages from tearing from the pressure of your fingers pulling it from a shelf.

this is awesome! i'm trying to make a small book (not as tiny as yours) following various directions online. your tutorial is really easy to follow and your pics are clear, but i would like to know how to make a headband. can you explain how you make it or refer me to a site where i can learn that?

WOW!! I found this VERY interesting. I'm unlikely to make one any time soon (too much on my plate already!) but it was good reading. Nice one!
