Scaw Gill

Alongside Scaw Road, Harrington, Cumberland. Someone has, at one time, taken pains to concrete the channel through which the gill passes for whatever reason.

Those of you who believe in ghosts may like the tale that this part of Scaw Gill is haunted! The sound of clogs running along the concrete has been heard on several occasions by those folks returning to the adjacent Moor House farm from dances and nights-out in Harrington, yet no living person was seen.

Of course, other spirits might've been involved at some stage or other... ;-) Eagle-eyed viewers may observe a small cube centre-background about a third of the way from the top of the pic. This is the remains of a safe, so whether I stumbled into a long-gone crime scene, I can't be sure.
