Persimmons

Known as cachi or kaki in Italy, these red-orange orbs are popular fruit trees in italian yards and gardens. They're enjoyed without any embellishments - simply halve and scoop out the flesh with a spoon. Must be consumed when fully ripe, that is, when the astringent tannins have entirely diminished.
