Aftermath in Waterloo, IN

A train carrying coal derailed Friday night in Waterloo, blocking at least one crossing, DeKalb County police said.

A total of 38 cars came off the track. No injuries were reported. Crews were working Friday night to fix the problem, police said.

Officers were told of the derailment just before 7:30 p.m.

At least one crossing, at Center Street in Waterloo, was affected by the derailment. The tracks run parallel to U.S. 6, so no major thoroughfares were affected, police said.
