Baby Gator 005
A baby American Alligator (Alligator Mississipiensis) trying to get some sun on a cold day at Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge, Texas, USA.
This photograph is for comparison to photograph Baby Gator 006. Each photograph was taken with either the 300/4 or 150/2 from a distance to get similar framing as well as shot wide-open and processed the same. The 300/4 was from a distance of 10.4 feet and has a DoF of 0.5 inches. The 150/2 shot was from a distance of 6.4 feet and has a DoF of 0.4 inches. The only crop to either photo was going to 16:9 because I like that aspect ratio for my gator photos and it's how I would normally crop these photos. I would crop them both a little to tighten up composition but for the comparison I felt I needed to leave them full length so you could see that the framing is very close.
