West Riding Woodcarvers - World War Two
The Royal Armouries Museum, Leeds is home to an installation of original carved wood panels by the West Riding Woodcarvers Association.

The horror, suffering, courage and human spirit of those who took part in the two World Wars were the inspiration for this work. The project took approximately 8,000 hours in the carving process and many hundreds of hours were spent in the selection and redrawing of photographs and images. The 95 individual pieces, mounted and displayed on two panels, depict five main themes: Air, Europe, Global, Sea and Home Front.
