This shot was inspired by a visit to an exhibition which showed some amazing black & white photographs, taken by Bedford Lemere & Co they were the leading architectural photography company in England during 1870 - 1920. Although primarily in London, Merseyside was the their second-most photographed location in England.

Liverpool has a variety of styles of architecture, nowadays most of them seem to be shooting up with glass and steel being the aesthetic materials used, you don't see any intricate stone masonry work. Shame, because it is an artform which is still being used today just not much on the architectural thematic.

At least when I do venture to Liverpool I have this magnificent piece of architecture to gaze on.

Enjoy and press "L".
