Eaglet Visible in Nest for first time 20090127

We watched the nest for 50 minutes, and obtained fleeting glimpses of the eaglet's head, visible through the basket-weave of nest sticks, bobbing up and then disappearing. This shows the chick against tha dark background of the tree trunk. Compare with the next picture from the same position, when the head is not visible. The wind was blowing a branch back and forth in front of the nest, but otherwise the photos appear quite comparable. Visit: rosyfinch.com/BaldEagleNest.html
