a very wet self portrait
Tomorrow I leave America and go back to soggy old England :) I've had such a wonderful time here - everyone I have met has been so friendly and so welcoming. Last night we all went to dinner and I had to hold back tears saying goodbye to Kyle the hairdresser - i love these people so much!
I haven't been very active as a self portrait artist these past months, and I have enjoyed it very much. I have given my all into my portfolio so that I can hopefully start a career in photography. I reached a point where I felt like my pictures were all tainted because they were all about me. I'll still take them occasionally as lord knows I won't have any models to work with when I get back to the UK, but I am going to focus on my port and actually try and make a career for myself.
I figured it was time I wrote an update, even though its been so long! I've bumped into so many flickrites on my american travels, and i cant wait to meet more of you guys. Flickr is such a wonderful place, so full of support and I will ALWAYS remember that these people are the people who got me where i am, who inspire me and motivate me to get better and never give up. flickr is freaking awesome.
Aaron and I are doing well in our new apartment (this is the swimming pool!) and I can't wait to see him again in November. I'm thinking of starting a photography club/classes for younger people who want to go out on photoshoots but don't have the resources back in england, so if anyone has any tips on that, that would be wonderful!
hope everyone is doing OK, apologies for the essay!
see you on the other side!!!
