34/365 - see my big girl shoes
"I could write my name by the age of three, and I don't need anyone to cut my meat for me. I'm a big girl now, see my big girl shoes, it'll take more than just a breeze for me to fall overboard."
So today I spent some of my day looking at universities and colleges over in America. My mum has told me what I am going to do with my future, I'm going to do what everyone else does, go to university here in England and get a degree, get a 9-5 job that I'll probably hate after the first 6 months, and spend my life living the by-the-book life.
I think otherwise.
I'm starting to consider taking a gap year to go exploring my possibilities, see what I like and then decide what to study, where to go. My mum is determined to keep me as close as possible, but it makes me want to go even farther away. It's scary though. As soon as I hit the big 1-8 I am a free girl, I can go wherever I want, I can stay up as late as I want! I can eat all the chocolate in the world, I can go live in a treehouse or go busk on the streets. I can take photos of everything and anything, I can purchase alcohol and not drink it, I can do ANYTHING!
Here's to finally putting on my big girl shoes.
