White Front Discount Store Pleasant Hill,CA

Former White Front Discount Store located at 560 Contra Costa Blvd. in Pleasant Hill,CA. After White Front closed in 1972 the building sat vacant for two years until renovations started to take place. By February 1975 The Treasury opened in the building. (The Treasury was a discount store owned by JC Penney). The Treasury closed by 1980 and a Gemco Discount Store soon moved into the building. Like all (or many) Gemco Stores this became a Target. Target has heavily redone the interior of the store. There is a Marshalls clothing store next to this Target which was originally the White Front Discount Food Store. It then became The Treasury Discount Food Store. In 1977 Romleys opened in the building and lasted until the early 1980's when Gemco opened their own supermarket (in the building itself). The Romleys Market became a Marshalls Discount Clothing Store which is still open to this date.
