It's a Deluge.
If you view it larger, you can better see the rather impressive rain drop splashes.
This is our back patio. The rain was coming down so hard, it overwhelmed the sump pump and turned the patio into a lake and the dry creek bed into a river. There are several more storms, at least one of which will presumably be more intense than this one, all lined up across the Pacific, waiting their turn to launch their assault on us. The week's total could reach 10 inches, and the weather gurus are predicting 10 feet of new snow in the Sierras by the end of the week. This is a good thing (except for the almost certain flooding that will occur in some areas); California badly needs all the water it can get. We're even getting thunder and lightning out of it, something we rarely experience around here.
