Our '65 "Cuda

    Newer Older

Oh, how Sammy and I loved this '65 Barracuda. Most of our cars have been pretty basic, utilitarian vehicles, mainly wagons and our current Honda CR-V (an SUV). But this "Cuda was for fun, though, as you can see, with the back seats laid down flat, it was utilitarian enough to fit in a couple of German shepherds. It was our first new car, and how we hated to part with it when we had to trade it in for a big, boring Chevy Bel Aire wagon when we fled the east coast in 1967 for sunny, snow-free, humidity-free California. That "Cuda had a snappy V8 engine in it, and I'll admit to having had more fun in it than I probably should have.

Our Daily Topic, "In the Car"

I've put together a set called Our Life Story depicting our life together over the past half century and containing over 150 images and descriptions of this nature which, for the most part, are in chronological order. Check it out and tell me what you think of it. Here's a sample page.

Neat shot! The dogs look like they had a great view through that big rear window.

I traded my 57 Chevy 7 cylender for a 66 GTO with 8 working cylinders back in 66. Had no dogs to worry about back then.

Cool! I remember my uncle buzzing around in a car similar to this! He seemed to be having a lot of fun, too.

What a beauty. I've sent your pictures of the Sheperd's sitting by your firstborn to many people who have children with dogs.
      What great memories you have.
