Incredible top photo from the Edwardian era...And again over 100 years difference...And The original St. James's Park tube station which opened in 1868 and was replaced by the mighty Charles Holden Building in 1929 and is The Headquarters for London Underground,it is also Grade 1 Listed...The massive Queen Anne’s Mansions which had 3 wings the part seen dates from 1873-75 while later parts where completed in 1890... Queen Victoria was not happy about`blocking her view from nearby Buckingham Palace`was bombed during 1940 luckily nobody died,Queen Anne’s Mansions were finally demolished in 1973 and replaced by the Home Office building (1976) at 102 Petty France. In 2008, after major refurbishment, 102 Petty France reopened as offices for the Ministry of Justice.......Just at the end on the far right is `The Old Star` Public House which dates from Victorian times and is 1 Pub spread over 2 buildings,One was called Hoop And Grapes... Petty France in the distance was once York Street..
