Serbian Orthodox church

The Serbian Orthodox church on Port Road. This is a scan of a print I made in 2003 using traditional darkroom methods. I used a technique called the Sabatier effect that gives the photo this look. The original photo wasn't particularly interesting, but with the special process applied it changed the look of the picture completely.

This was my first attempt at it, which was quite successful-this picture won Best special effects image, and Best Year 12/13 exhibit in show at the 2003 Royal Adelaide Show. It's one of my early favourites and a print that gets a lot of comments. I tried doing the process again but never managed to make it look like this one. And now I can't really remember how I did it. Taken with a Canon EOS 3000 on Ilford XP2 film. I think.
