Dollar Store Paleontology (Photo 1 of 6)
Last year I reconnected with my long lost pals, these little plastic dinosaurs from the 1970s.
My parents must have gotten these when I was just old enough not to eat them. Like many kids, I was dinosaur-crazy. They were definitely some of the first toys I remember ever owning, and I had them long before I got that fateful Star Wars Early Bird Kit. These guys and I parted ways one day when my parents decided I was too old for them, and they were passed on to a family friend who was a few years younger.
Two years ago the same friend invited me over to help identify some toys he wanted to put on eBay (I have an elephant's memory for this stuff, so I'm often asked to help people catalogue their attic finds). At a bottom of a box were the four guys you see above. I recognized them instantly, and of course, he let me take my old friends back home.
