Weeton signal box 14th August 1972 picture by Alan Sommerfield.

Weeton box was built in 1877 by Saxby and Farmer for the L&Y Rly,it closed in 1993.This line saw heavy traffic during the Summer months and at those time every box on the line would be switched in,at times of less traffic many of the small box's would be switched out.On what looks like a fine Summer day the signalman is enjoying the Lancashire sun.
