As the location of the boat had just prevented a line of sight we both lowered to see each other for the shot.

Zhongshan Park is a former imperial garden now open to the public. Sadly it very much stands in the shadow of the Forbidden City, if not Beihai Park and the rest of Beijing. When visiting, there is a sense of people there just to ensure it is visited rather than a specific visit in itself. There is also a relative rush of people that enter after the Forbidden City closes: These people like others are visiting to fill time. Much of its charm is derived from its tranquillest which is difficult if not impossible to find at the centre of Beijing. If you have already seen the Forbidden City, Beihai Park and Ohai it is worth a visit.
