ca. 1393 - 'Johannes (+1332) and Gerard (+1398) van Heers', Heers, province of Limburg, Koninklijke Musea voor Kunst en Geschiedenis, Brussel, Belgium

This has to be one of the most beautiful brasses in Western Europe. The detail is extraordinary and the engraving has been done with the utmost craftmanship.

Gerard van Heers probably commissioned the monument for himself and his uncle Johannes around 1393, the year he made up his will wherein he mentions the desire to be buried in the church of Heers.

Note that Gerard's date of death has been added later in a somewhat different style ('XCVIII').

Stylistically a date of around 1393 is also almost spot on.
