Ramey on St.Vrain
I went looking for Ron the other day to give him a jar of chokecherry jelly but had to wait for him. I was on a trek under fortunate skies so I walked over to the pond to wait to see if he would show up. I turned north onto 61st into Ron's and waited but in the meantime I hauled my podzilla over to the gravel pit to try to shoot across the water toward the old abandoned Ramey Place north of the cattails I shot. Eddie snuck into the Ramey Place (on Boulder unOpen Space Land) once to shoot the house once. I kind of like it in the distance. I especially like my cloud work here and I guess they like my cloud work over on Eddie's site as well. When Ron drove up I gave him the jelly and a plastic wrapped spoon I scarfed from Safeway and he proceeded to eat the jelly alone with the spoon. Another satisfied customer. Then I remembered I left the camera on the tripod in the field and went back for a few shots before I left. Eddie and I decided that the patched shacks (noticeable on the left shed) looked bogus until the new wood weathers to conformity. If you look close, you'll find a new roof on the old house. This sky suits me but more would be better! I thought it might be more than ordinary if I treated the clouds properly. I'll keep an eye on the place. Fortunately, some serious retouching has allowed me to start catching up on my back log. I will have to go through them and weed out the also-rans.
We get a break from the hundred degree heat and I hope some clouding keeps up; now we are in the mid-nineties. We've had a couple of days with relieving sprinkles but the forecast gives us a string of mid nineties to keep pouring salt on our wounds. We never got a proper spring. And now they say Greenland got a heavy meltdown in just four days. Fortunately, I've heard all the politicos say there is no global warming. Not the best of political science; perhaps neither. Today, I thought would be good for making another batch of jelly; I already lost all of my first batch. More editing today even before the jelly.
