Mystacides longicornis

    Newer Older

Think the ID is right! A fairly distinct looking caddisfly and 'longicornis' it certainly is!! Just had a very brief lull in the wind to get the antennae *almost* sharp!!

Blimey! It's a Caddis... I thought these were some kind of long horn micro moths, I had one land right in front of me the other day. I thought.... Moth.... ID nightmare..... poor light....nahhh.... and did'nt take a shot. Which I had now. Excellent pix Maria. :@)

Fabulous. Imagine being that Caddis and trying to control your antennae in these conditions. Well spotted and captured.

that is a stunning species of caddis, its like the very similer longhorn moth you get up there. you have to look at the eyes to confirm it
      what a beast!
