Shortly after this I was accused of using the camera as a distraction technique. She won anyway, so it didn't do me much good.
She's generally pretty patient though, so in a spirit of compromise I put the camera away :o)
This is not straight out of camera, although it may look it. The table surface was much softer and warmer in the original, I have increased the contrast and sharpness of the focussed area in order to bring out the texture. The rest is pretty much untouched.
This is taken with the Minolta 50mm f1.7 lens, hence the fact that a) I could get away with no flash in a dingy pool bar and b) the incredibly tight DOF.
