Sailfish

    Newer Older

Before you think I'm the luckiest person in the world, I'll say it is the same fish as in the other photo. This photo was shot from the hip, so to speak, because as much as I tried sinking down to get an angle below the fish it kept following me down

adlin, Nemo's great uncle, Desideria, and 45 other people added this photo to their favorites.

Beautiful, what lens were you shooting with?

Thanks for the comments... This was taken with the Nikkor 12-24mm lens Pelagic, at the wide end. In my housing at least, I found that it needs to be used at f8 or higher, otherwise there is a lot of 'racing' at the corners. Although I guess for this photo that wouldn't matter. To be honest when this sailfish turned up I didn't have time to think, just fired away with whatever settings the camera was on at the time!

Yep, we all hate it when sailfish follow us around like this. They can be a bloody nuisance that way!
