Sunset, Gates of the Valley (Yosemite)

Never posted this one until now because it's such a cliched view. I finally decided I really like the sky, however, so up it goes. :)

Here's why this is my favorite spot in Yosemite Valley. Everybody and his cousin stops to shoot from this spot, but I can never resist spending time here when I'm at Yosemite. If you follow the path away from the parking lot down to the water's edge (the location of which changes dramatically depending on time of year, and which is often icy or muddy), you can enjoy relative seclusion and watch the light and clouds play off the granite faces of El Cap and Bridalveil, listen to the sound of the Merced rushing by next to you, dip your fingers in the water and see the occasional trout jump.
