Our Scotty's new custom Route 66 shades
The front dinette. I bought this fabric called "Historic Highway" by Alexander Henry Fabrics. They have a slew of cool fabrics. I was going for a retro Route 66 diner look, so this fit the bill nicely. A seamstress in the greater Indianapolis area made the shades, using the originals that came with the trailer for the pattern. I also bought drapery blackout fabric for the back side, to block light.
Both dinettes and the counters are finished with aqua boomerang Formica, which unfortunately has been discontinued. There are other brands that make boomerang countertop material, but the color was perfect for the Scotty (coordinates well with the turquoise exterior) and I like the matte finish.
