El Don Motel, Albuquerque, New Mexico

THE 'EL DON MOTEL' IS ALIVE AND VERY WELL. Here is another precious part of the Route 66 past, the famous 'EL DON' is now owned and operated by Dave Patel, who understands the importance of the Route 66 legacy. He is proud to be able to keep his doors open by offering the lowest prices in Albuquerque.

This is a Fine Art photo of the 'EL DON MOTEL' neon sign is in Albuquerque, New Mexico. During the hey day of travel along the Mother Road, Route 66, the El Don Motel was a key place to stop for the night while traveling through New Mexico. Fortunately, through the years, the different owners of the El Don realized how important the up keep of the priceless neon sign was, so each new owner has done their part, leaving an incredible legacy of the 1950s when family travel was all done by car. Dave Patel is the present owner and is doing a great job keeping the 'El Don' looking its vintage best and still living up to its high quality of affordable rooms and even a free breakfast.
