Monochrome Seaside. By R J Watson
A different perspective of Barmouth town, nestled between a mountain range and the sea - taken from the steep hillside of Dinas Oleu - translated means "Fortress of Light" - is a gorse covered hillside with small areas of young sycamore and native oak - it became the first piece of land donated to the National Trust in 1895.
The promenade below extends for over a mile alongside the beach. Mount Snowdon is just visable on the right in the far distance.
