Look Ma, No Antlers
-15C or so today but the sun was shining so I headed off to the Jack Pine Trail to see if I could get another shot of the buck with his fine set of antlers. Greeted on the trail by this guy with his new disguise. Quite different than when I photographed him a couple of weeks ago.
Male White-tailed deer lose their antlers each winter and regrow them over the spring and summer months. Still a bit of a surprise to see this fellow with his antlerless head.
