9-15-2018 Confluence Cleanup
It had been 4 years since we'd tackled the trash at the Confluence of our Nation's longest rivers. With high water giving us access to places we hadn't cleaned before, 169 volunteers filled a 40 cubic yard dumpster of another layer of stuff floated in from two massive watersheds. Great weather and a fantastic crowd of git-er-done volunteers makes for a happy river. We are so grateful to the MRR Crew volunteers that run such a smooth and inspiring event. We are grateful for our Event Coordinator Kevin Tosie for organizing his first massive river cleanup and making it easy for all of us to have so much fun, and get so much good work done. A Big, Muddy Thanks to the sponsors and partners that made it possible: Missouri American Water, Rio Vista Fund, Employee Community Fund of Boeing, Greenway Network, Pat Jones, Alpine Shop, Missouri Dept. of Conservation, Great Rivers Greenway, St. Louis Aquarium Foundation, Missouri Stream Teams Republic Services, REI, Dominos Pizza, Urban Chestnut Brewing Company - Grove, Trailhead Brewing Company, Beasley FishMarket, Columbia Bottom Conservation Area St. Louis County Parks, Dobbs Tire & Auto Centers and the unbelievable force of nature that is the League of Watershed Guardians, Missouri Stream Team 5168 and Arnold Stream Team 211.
