Sari Cloth Seller in New Delhi

We ventured deep within Chandni Chowk's narrow alleyways, up a flight or two of rickety stairs, to ultimately find a fabric emporium where the seller was eager to make a deal to American suckers.

Fabrics were laid out so quickly, layer upon layer of the most incredible colors and patterns. Another. Another. Yet another. Yet none ultimately made the cut and we left the guy to put everything away.

The process of making obvious all of the future effort that will go into carefully putting everything back is a skillful use of guilt that must often translate into a sale.
