Jug Bay on the Patuxent River
Jug Bay is a shallow widening of Maryland's Patuxant River . It has a huge diversity of plant and animal life. Waterfowl are attracted to marsh grasses. Osprey, eagles and shorebirds are attracted to the huge volume of fish in the waters. The woods around the shore have foxes, deer, owls, woodpeckers and, because of some cool water streams, uncommon amphibians.
The Anne Arundel County side has limited access (Wed and Sat) but a large amount of trail and unusual habitats. There are many educational programs offered for all ages.

The Prince George's County side is a managed as a county park and offers canoeing, hiking, educational programs, and wildlife viewing from pontoon boats.
