Oxidation Room

Rishi’s Joshua with Mr. Wang (the organic pioneer of China) and Mr. Qu (the Xuan En elected Organic Co-op director) in the black tea oxidation room. This room is kind of like a sauna and was recently designed to change the way the local people make black tea in order to get a deeper red and richer oxidation during the cool spring season when ambient conditions would be too cold to properly oxidize great black tea. This first flush black tea is called Gong Hong and is on the way to Rishi and will be available very soon. Gong Hong is sweet and malty with an elegant brisk edge and golden tipped and well shaped leaf appearance.
