Abandoned Richard Garrett steam engine

An abandoned steam engine in Kuala Kangsar, Perak, Malaysia.

This machine was built by Richard Garrett & Sons, probably around 1910.

There's a plaque that states "Federated Malay States (FMS)" which was established by the British government in 1895 and lasted until 1946.

Richard Garrett & Sons was a manufacturer of agricultural machinery, steam engines and trolleybuses. In the 19th Century Richard Garrett's factory was THE pioneering agricultural engineers.

It was Richard Garrett III, grandson of the companies founder, who really made the business take-off. He came up, many years before Henry Ford, with the World's First "Production Line"
