Torre dell'Orologio, Venice

The Torre dell’Orologio which stands at the northeast corner of the Piazza San Marco, at the entrance to the Merceria (Venice’s prime retail street through the centuries) was probably the work of the great early Renaissance Venetian architect Codussi. It was constructed in the late 1490s. The wings (not by Codussi) were added a few years later.
