Punta della Dogana at the Meeting of the Grand and Giudecca Canals, Venice
Viewed from the campanile of San Giorgio Maggiore.
For centuries the Dogana was Venice's customs house. The present building (now a contemporary art site) was built in 1682. Behind it is the Salute, built to give thanks for the lifting of the plague in 1630.
