Sunken Defenses, American History

A cannon barrel (now absent it's long-gone wooden base) rests propped on the remains of a stone wall, guarding the sandy bottom in the colonial-era harbor since reclaimed by the sea -- now 5 meters underwater in the anchorage of the Caribbean island Nancy has dubbed "St. Elsewhere." I posted the story of finding this site on Nancy's blog, "A Shore Dive Kinda Life."
