Not quite the shot I had in mind!
With two Colas 66s showing at Carlisle yard on Monday morning I took a punt on a possible double-headed 6J37 Chirk log train and headed to a sunny Armathwaite to phot' the working on the curve at Low Baron Wood Farm in case this eventuality transpired.
At least it WAS sunny at the time the train should've passed.
When the clouds finally won the day 50 minutes later and with no sign of it I fecked it off as a bad job and drove to Carlisle for some lunch and to phot' the 6C42 empty acid tanks.
In what I suppose is an irony 6J37 rolled through the station shortly after my arrival, 2 hours late and single-headed by No.66847, as opposed to the loco I haven't photted, to wit; No.66849.
Not only that, I had my 55-250mm lens fitted so couldn't even bodge up a half decent frontal composition.
