The second accident at the race. Apparently he went a bit wide at turn one, caught some gravel, and ended up smacking the inside wall on the way down to turn two. The truck's taking the car away on the straight down-track from two.


All this according to what I read - we just saw the aftermath. Having watched it again on DVD, I can say it was a very frightening, high-speed affair, strewing debris over the track (part of which was then run over by one of the Penske Porsches). The driver, John Faulkner, was apparently only shaken up and bruised, but the damage was enough to take this car out of the race in Detroit the following week.


The car is the Intersport Racing entry, a Lola B06/10 powered by an AER engine.
