As we were winding down our trip to Texas, we stopped by the Brookgreen Gardens in Murrell's Inlet, South Carolina. If you ever get the chance to go, it's an exceptional site, especially when everything is in full bloom. Brookgreen is an old rice plantation, but has been carefully conserved as an extensive garden and sculpture collection.
This is one of my favorite sculptures in the collection, and in this image, I like how the lines of the sculpture play with the lines of the oak trees in the background.
This was processed as an amalgam of three different tonemapped images -- basic, sharp color, and shadowmap -- from a three-exposure bracketed set. Additional processing was done using NIK Color Efex Pro filters.
