The Yarlung Tsangpo ཡར་ཀླུངས་གཙང་པོ་ (Brahmaputra) River

About 2,900 km (1,800 miles) long

The Yarlung Tsangpo ཡར་ཀླུངས་གཙང་པོ་ or Brahmaputra arises at the foot of the Chemayungdung Glacier (at the Mountain Ganglung Gang Ri) and flows 2900km through Tibet , easternmost India, and Bangladesh, where it joins the Ganges and empties into the Bay of Bengal the Indian Ocean. Downstream from Arunachal Pradesh the river becomes wider and at this point is called the Brahmaputra River. The Brahmaputra is one of Hinduism's most sacred rivers, and its name means "Brahma's Son".
