Gabde དགའ་བདེ། county
Gabde county lies in Central Golok to the south of the Amnye Machen range and within the bend of the Ma chu རྨ་ཆུ་ ( Yellow River). It is an important breeding area for the Black-necked crane,Tibetan name, khrung khrung ཁྲུང་ཁྲུང་།,Grus nigricollis.
The county capital is located at Bakchen on the Shi ke chu, a southeast flowing tributary of the Ma chu རྨ་ཆུ་ ( Yellow River).There are 7 monasteries within the county, including some representing the rare Jonangpa school.
Area: 6.554 sq km.
