New life under the hood.

A Booby chick is so newly hatched that it does not yet have that cotton candy white covering that helps protect it fron the sun

This appears to be a Nazca Booby (Sula granti) becuse its feet are either red nor blue. It is a type of booby which is found in the eastern Pacific Ocean, namely on the Galápagos Islands. It was formerly regarded as a subspecies of the Masked Booby but the Nazca Booby is now recognized as a separate species.

Nazca Boobies make their nest pn the ground by clearing away rocks and other debris to form a rough circle. Dad is the one to mostly sit the nest as he tries to propect its young from preditors and the environment.

On Espanola Island in the Galapagos, which is also known as Hood Island after Viscount Samuel Hood.
